VOICI BERNADETTE
THE PEOPLE'S REEF PROJECT

MMPS Environmental is teaming up with St Lucie County to raise funds to relocate & deploy the Voici Bernadette off the coast to add to our artificial reef inventory. The M/V Voici Bernadette is a general cargo ship built in 1965 with 55m length overall and beam of 9m. Our goal is to provide better areas to fish and dive, and to enhance local fisheries.
WESLEY'S ISLAND PROJECT

Wesley's Island is a spoil Island located in beautiful Fort Pierce, Florida. Our goal is to remove the invasive species on the island and restore the natural beauty and habitat of the island. Invasive species have large impacts on the ecosystem they invade. They can affect the chemical makeup of the water, availability of resources, and even alter the food web. Invasive species impact other species more directly through competition of resources. Because invasive species evolved with other competitors and native species evolved in the absence of invasive species they lack the ability to compete with the invasive species. This gives the invasive species the upper hand, and leads to a overall reduction in biodiversity in the area.
